This year's Summer Ball proved to be a night to remember. The second Friends of Alfie Johnson Summer Ball was yet another sell out event, raising over £7,000.

The evening was held in the Earls Suite at the Copthorne Hotel, Merry Hill for the second year running. Over 250 people attended to join in the celebrations and raise a fantastic amount of money for a very special little boy.

Guests were treated to a show stopping solo performance from 15 year old Lydia Orme, who sang two numbers to get the party started. Top magician, Max Butler, was on hand, wowing guests with his fantastic act and memorizing performance. We welcomed back compère, Tracey Spare-Event Director for the Great Midlands Fun Run, who again did a first class job hosting the evening and running the auction. A number of fantastic items were won on the night which helped to boost the total to £7,092.

After last year's success we welcomed back top Tom Jones tribute, Simon Abbotts to perform for us once more. He was joined on stage by his good friend, and runner-up in the BBC's hit show, 'The One & Only' Moni Tivony as Lionel Richie, together they brought the house down with their fantastic acts which proved to extremely popular with our guests. Top DJ, 'Andee Deejay' brought the event to a climax with his fantastic disco to round off a perfect evening.

The evening would not have been a success without the love, kindness and support of so many who share our goal of 'Making a difference'. Without this kind of help by so many wonderful people we would not be able to provide Alfie with the essential care and support he needs for today and for tomorrow to make his life as happy and fulfilled as possible.
