Quiz Night

On Friday the 18th November, 2011, we held our first Friends of Alfie Johnson Quiz Night at the Cradley Heath Liberal Club.

Our evening was a great success and raised £1300 on the night with £300 being donated to BBC Children in Need.

The first proud winners of the Friends of Alfie Johnson Quiz Shield, with a fantastic score of 197 were team ‘Stand up if you hate the Villa’. As a Villa fan himself, Alfie still wished to pass on his congratulations to the team. The winners also received a bottle of bubbly.
A very close runners-up battle ensued with team ‘Skins’ taking the second spot with a score of 193 and were awarded a runner-up trophy for their great effort.
And proudly propping up the foot of the table was team ‘Only Smarties Have the Answer’ with a score of 61. They team didn’t go away emptied handed though, they were the proud winners of our first Wooden Spoon awards. Well done!!

We would like to thank everyone who attended the event and to those who bought raffle tickets. For our first quiz we were extremely happy with the response and everyone really enjoyed the evening, especially the Fish & Chips. The funds raised will help us to continue the positive work we do for Alfie and also for other children with disabilities.
