I just wanted to say a big big big thank you to you all who have made 2009 such a wonderful year for me. It has been a very up and down year for me. Sometimes I have been quite poorly, but all the hard work that you have done for me and everyone at the Friends of Alfie Johnson has helped me through some tough times.
I am so lucky to have so many wonderful, kind and loving people who want to make my life as enjoyable as possible. I know my life will be quite hard sometimes but you have all made such a big difference in a short space of time that I know I don't face these challenges alone.
So to all my new friends I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.
See you all in 2010
All my love
In January this year, the Chris Westwood Charity very kindly donated £923 to Alfie so that he could buy a special car seat. And now almost 12 months to the day, the Friends of Alfie Johnson has been able to make a donation of £1000 to the Chris Westwood Charity. The money will now go to another local little boy age 2, who also suffers with Cerebral Palsy and needs the very same car seat.
Chris Westwood had this to say:
"With the level of activity more than doubling this year, we are extremely pleased to receive such a generous donation, as our needs for additional funds continue to grow. I have assured Paul that we have once again operated for the whole year with no administration costs, so that every penny donated is used for the purpose the donors intended.
At this time last year, we received the request from Paul for help with the purchase of a special car seat. This year, at the same time, we have again received a request for help with the purchase of a special car seat for a two year old.
The Friends of Alfie Johnson's very generous gift will be used immediately to purchase the same equipment we purchased for him, and will help another child with similar problems."
The Friends of Alfie Johnson are extremely happy that we have been able to help another little boy and his family with equipment that will make a difference.
